Welcome to the Wheeling and Lake Erie Historical Site. We are an informal group of "railfans" dedicated to preserving and disseminating information about the "Wobbly and Late Everytime" railroad, past and present, and the Nickel Plate Road W&LE Division and Norfolk and Western Pittsburgh Division.
We attempt to get together several times a year for tours and an annual meeting/picnic, somewhere along the system. Our tours feature an up-close look at the railroad operations of yesterday, and today, and are attended by historians, archivists, and former railroad employees. The information shared is priceless.
