Welcome to the OVSRails Virtual Railroad Family
 
A Virtual Railroad is a group or "club" of people who enjoy simulating railroad operations.
We chat and share files, provide training, and we run activities on the sim and report them to the VR.
The VR tracks our hours on the roster as we move up through the ranks.

We're expiramenting with a new setup this month, to get more information from the statistics for June and July, and see if things work out better this way. If not, we'll go back to the format we have now.
 
The Prototype VR's will join forces in one Pro VR. The vNS is still reeling from it's management flameout, Pro West has seen several potential GM's not work out. So for the time being at least, all of the prototypes will fall under the Prototype VR. Mike Singleton will oversee the Pro VR. Mike was assistant GM or vNS and MSTS manager of vCSX.
 
RailWorks will have it's own VR. Right now RailWorks is spread over two MSTS VR's, with more routes coming. And the guys in vCSX are tied to one route, unable to work on or evaluate any non-CSX routes. This will put all of our Rail Works people together, and allow them more freedon. And we will also be able to watch it's growth in the stats.
 
There are plenty of new activities to test, we need testers. If you're looking for an activity to run, these acts have one big advantage over some of the others. And that is the writer is active and is watching for your questions. When running an older act, the writer is not always active in the forums anymore to answer questions or help with problems, as we have recently seen.
 

The Ohio Valley System was formed April 6, 2003 as a single route VR.
It has since grown by adding more high quality routes, and more talented virtual railroaders.

New routes are being watched all the time, and the best are temporarily added and evaluated by the membership.
Whether it's industrial switching, coal hauling, steel mill work, mainline running, logging,  
commuter and long distance passenger service, traction, we have it all.
For steam buffs, we have more steam locomotives, and more steam activities, than any other VR.
