Quick answers to frequent questions, straight from the Book
Abortion
There is a lot of controversy about the exact time a fetus becomes a living human, and of when it has a soul. Ephesians shows us that God had plans for that person even before the world was created:
Eph 1:4 Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Disciplining children
Pro 13:24 If you don't punish your children, you don't love them. If you do love them, you will correct them.
Pro 29:15 Correct your children, and they will be wise; children out of control disgrace their mothers.
Divorce
Mat 19:9 I say that if your wife has not committed some terrible sexual sin, you must not divorce her to marry someone else. If you do, you are unfaithful."
Luk 16:18 It is a terrible sin for a man to divorce his wife and marry another woman. It is also a terrible sin for a man to marry a divorced woman.

Homosexuality
Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Rom 1:26,27 For this reason, God gave them over to degrading passions. Even their females exchanged their natural sexual function for one that is unnatural. In the same way, their males also abandoned the natural sexual function of females and burned with lust for one another. Males committed indecent acts with males, and received in themselves the appropriate penalty for their perversion.
God's Will for our lives
There's a popular notion that God has a "will" for our lives. Is it His will that I have that car? Is it His will that we get a bigger house? We have to watch that we don't use "God's will" as an excuse to be materialistic. The Bible's description of God's will is much different than that.
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who keeps saying to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will get into the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who keeps doing the will of my Father in heaven."
Mat 12:50 "For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."
The word "will" does not appear anywhere else in the Bible when used as God's plans. So God's will is not His plans for your life, but what we're suppose to be doing for Him!!!
Mat18:14 In the same way, it is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost."
Competing with others
Some people are confused about Christians who play sports, like racing. Jesus preached to be nice to everyone and treat them like you want to be treated. When it's time to compete, the Bible says to go for it. If you're gonna do it, do it right.
1Co 9:24 You know that many runners enter a race, and only one of them wins the prize. So run in such a way to win!
Ecc 9:11 Here is something else I have learned: The fastest runners and the greatest heroes don't always win races and battles. Wisdom, intelligence, and skill don't always make you healthy, rich, or popular. We each have our share of bad luck.
Laziness
Pro 12:11 He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment.
Pro 12:24 Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
Marriage
Pro 5:18-22 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer--may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love. Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife? For a man's ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths. The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast.
Eph 5:30-33 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
I Tim
5:8 If anyone does not provide for his relatives,
and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is
worse than an unbeliever.
Sexual Sins
1CO 6:18-20 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
1CO 6:15 Do you not know that your bodys are memebrs of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with the prostitute? Never!
